River's Edge Men's Basketball

Saturday mornings! 9-11 a.m.  Put on your high tops, warm up your jumpin' feet and come join the neighborhood Men's Basketball fellowship.  Hosted by Ascension in partnership with River's Edge Fellowship. Usually held all but the 4th Saturday of the month in the Family Life Center.

Heit's Point

One of the ministries our church enjoys and supports is a Lutheran camp located about 100 miles away in Lincoln, MO. Started in the early 80's, built on donated land, it includes all the things campers need  -- cabins and campgrounds, a pool, lake access with boating, even horses and a lovely outdoor chapel.

Ascension members built a pavilion called the "Ascension Haus" which adds to the setting.  Throughout the year, groups often hold retreats at the camp - near enough and yet far enough away to make it a great weekend getaway.

Open Your Heart and Home

to a Lutheran exchange student from Germany
for the coming 2018-2019 school year

NEEDED:  A volunteer host family (with or without children) or a single parent is needed to provide food, a bed and a loving home to Sophie (16) for the coming school year starting in late August. Educational Merit Foundation (EMF) students have medical insurance, spending money for their personal expenses and expect to share their host family’s daily life including household responsibilities.  They speak English, are well-screened and eager to experience life in America.  Their stay here is sponsored and supervised by EMF, a non-profit, educational exchange program. It is not too late to apply. For more information on EMF students, please call Marie-Claude Dijoud now at 1-800-467-8363 or visit our web site at www.emfusa.org.
