Friday Morning Bible Study with Pastor Stolle
Saturday mornings! 9-11 a.m. Put on your high tops, warm up your jumpin' feet and come join the neighborhood Men's Basketball fellowship. Hosted by Ascension in partnership with River's Edge Fellowship. Usually held all but the 4th Saturday of the month in the Family Life Center.
One of the ministries our church enjoys and supports is a Lutheran camp located about 100 miles away in Lincoln, MO. Started in the early 80's, built on donated land, it includes all the things campers need -- cabins and campgrounds, a pool, lake access with boating, even horses and a lovely outdoor chapel.
Ascension members built a pavilion called the "Ascension Haus" which adds to the setting. Throughout the year, groups often hold retreats at the camp - near enough and yet far enough away to make it a great weekend getaway.
It has been a very busy year at Heit's Point, but as always, heading into fall and winter brings special challenges to the ministry. Remember, we are open year-round, so we ask that you keep us in mind for any family gatherings and any other special needs we might be able to assist you with. We also ask that you keep the entire ministry in your prayers AND consider including us in your end-of-year gift planning. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact Gary Pumphrey at (816) 682-9963 or email@example.com. We exist to help everyone "Strengthen their connection to the vine!"
Thanksgiving at Ascension?
Thursday, November 28 - Will you be on your own this day? Would you like to skip the turkey TV dinner and join your friends at Ascension for a noon meal? We'll keep it simple, catered by Hy-Vee who makes a pretty good turkey dinner with all the trimmings. We suggest $10/person to cover the costs. If you're interested in joining us, please see the sign-up sheet in the Narthex so we know if anyone wants to participate.
Adopt-a-Highway Thank you!
A sincere thank you to the people who served by picking up trash on November 2nd: Bill Conroy, Ed Doering, Ron Erickson, Dean Mettlen, Alan and Julia Reid, Hans Rinas, Pam and Doug Rinas. We picked up 30 bags of trash plus some larger items that didn’t fit into a bag. Ask any adopt a highway volunteer and they will tell you that it means a lot to keep “our stretch of I-70” looking good! Since November 2002, Ascension volunteers have picked up over 1,400 bags of trash!!! THANKS AGAIN!! Our next pick up will be sometime next spring. Please contact Doug Rinas for more information.
Church office hours are 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 pm.
Are you getting our emails? We’ve started sending devotions to members and friends. Some we write, others are links to respected sites with timely messages. If you haven’t seen our message yet, EMAIL us at CONNECTING@ASCENSIONLCKC.ORG or drop us a note with your name and email address in the secretary’s office.

Host for Walker Program Wanted
Looking for hosts for our walker program - This program has been in place nearly as long as we've had the Family Life Center (20 years) and is a successful outreach ministry for the church. Part of the success is due to the participation from church members who serve as hosts, committing to spend one morning a week to host our many non-member guests. We have a need to open the FLC on Thursday or Friday mornings and could use anothr volunteer or two to commit to closing duties once a week. Talk to Carol Pohlman or kathy Jenkins for details.
