Sunday School in Action

Yay! Sunday School is in full swing for our youth. Each week, children from preschool through 6th grade hear about God's love through song, prayer, crafts and stories. We pray that God continues to work in the hearts of these children and their teachers.

Schedule for Sunday Morning

8:15 - Adult Bible class
8:30 - Sunday School and confirmation class for youth
9:30 - Sunday Worship in the sanctuary

There will be coffee in the Family Life Center from 8:00 until after the church service. Please stop by the FLC before or after church for coffee and fellowship.

The Lutheran Hour Ministries sponsored "Gifted for More" Workshop start has been moved to April 21 during the Sunday Adult Bible class hour. It will be a multi-media presentation similar to the previous class making use of LHM materials and videos (on the large format TV) as well as Gifted for More workbooks for participants as we explore the gifts that God has given us (some obvious, some hidden) and how to put them to work for the betterment of ourselves, our congregation and our community in the service of God."

Pastor Stolle’s Bible Class ~ Fridays @ 10:00 discussing Max Lucado’s book Help Is Here Finding Fresh Strength and Purpose in the Power of the Holy Spirit. The book is $20.

Walker Program

Ascension’s Walker Program is live! The Family Life Center is open for walking from 7 am to 10 am weekdays. Walking is a great way to start your day and can improve both your physical and mental health! Please join us.

Our Walker Program provides our members and our community with a forum for physical exercise through walking and fellowship. Ascension members serve as hosts for the program; which is open weekdays from 7 am to 10 am (not including holidays or when there is inclement weather). If you are interested in serving as a host, a host substitute, and/or would like more information please feel free to reach out to Charles Green or Pam Rinas.

A reminder that there is coffee available in the Family Life Center after Church. Grab a cup and visit with friends.

Keeping Our History Alive

Do you have old or new or anything in between of photos from our church history, functions, programs, fellowships, decorating, etc.? I can scan old photos or download anything digital from a CD/DVD or a flash drive. All photos will be returned to you. The photos will be in a large collage and displayed at our 60th anniversary celebration in November of this year. Please, make sure to put your name on your photos, so I may return them to you. Midwest March For Life

Join us Wednesday May 1st at the Missouri State Capitol. Activities planned from 8:00 a.m. until 2:30 p.m. See the bulletin board for more information.

We're starting a new tradition with this year's Ascension Day. It will be marked as a Day of Prayer. We are still finalizing plans but will have opportunities to pray here at church and on your own. If you would like to help plan the day, please contact Kathy Jenkins.

Adopt a Highway - Thank You A sincere thank you to the people who served by picking up trash on Ascension’s stretch of I-70 last Saturday, April 20th. Thanks to Ed Doering, Kathy Jenkins, Kerry Stucky, Hans Rinas, Doug and Pam Rinas. These 6 volunteers picked up 24 bags of trash! This brings Ascension's grand total to 1885 bags of trash picked up on I-70 since Don Bartels started Ascension's Adopt a Highway efforts on November 9, 2002. We will have another pick up in a couple of months or so. For more information contact Doug Rinas.

Spring Voters Meeting is set for Sunday, May 19. Please mark this on your calendar to join us for a short Voters' meeting and to enjoy one of our legendary potluck meals hosted by the board of Fellowship.
