I have not weighed in on all of the shootings, bomb threats, high gas prices, baby formula shortages and whatnot. I have no opinion of these things simply because Jesus warned us that these and other things, such as wars, earthquakes, famines and other natural and unnatural phenomena would continue until His Return at the end of the world.

Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding. Stop imposing on God your opinions about how things will work out. The LORD knows how to do things, so do not dictate to Him. if you expect such a response from God, then your god is way too small.

This is part of a dying world, but the LORD has control of it. Besides, it does not matter about making rules and laws that are supposed to protect the most helpless and weakest members of humans, as the total amount of fetuses aborted since 1973 is around 63M. Why should people expect their world not be shattered by disease, disaster and destruction, since this is what goes on until the Lord Jesus returns to end all things? Trust in the LORD with all your heart.

So, forgive my inability to address what people continually do not understand: God will allow us to sin and destroy what He made, but He holds together the world for the sake of His Church, wherever she is located. But that may mean you and I suffer the consequences of a world fallen into sin. The comfort we have is in Christ with us in the middle of our lives, in the middle of our suffering, especially suffering for His sake. The comfort is that regardless the circumstances, God is with us, He will guide us and in the wounds of Christ, we are washed of our sin and greatly loved by the LORD.

God calls us to faithfulness to His Word and trust in Him through His Son, Jesus, Who sacrificed Himself for all people, so that those who believe will be saved. But that does not mean they will have ease, comfort or security in this present world. They will have His presence, His love, His forgiveness and His strength for the time they have on this side of heaven. And this side of heaven is a short period of time in comparison to eternity.

We give Him thanks for all the gifts He gives us out of His Fatherly divine goodness and mercy, without any merit or worthiness in us. And if we are given ease, comfort and security, give thanks to Him Who is our great comfort and strength, Jesus Christ, who gave His life for you so you could spend an eternity with Him.

Psalm 107:1 Oh give thanks to the Lord, for he is good, for his steadfast love endures forever!
